Bulk Export Google Docs™ to WordPress™

Welcome to the Tenwrite user-guide on bulk exporting your Google Docs™ content to WordPress™. Tenwrite provides a user-friendly Google Docs™ add-on, streamlining the process. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of seamlessly transferring multiple Google Docs™ to your WordPress™ site using the Tenwrite add-on.

Prerequisites

Before you begin exporting your Google Docs™ content to WordPress™ with Tenwrite, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  1. WordPress™ Installation: Ensure you are using a self-hosted or third-party hosted WordPress™ installation. Tenwrite currently supports open-source WordPress™ installations only. WordPress.com sites are not supported currently.
  2. WordPress™ Site Access: Make sure you have access to the WordPress™ admin panel.
  3. User Permissions: Make sure you have the necessary permissions to generate an Application Password in your WordPress™ site. You may need administrator or equivalent user role access. These permissions are needed for Tenwrite to securely connect with your WordPress™ site during the export process.

Step-by-Step Guide

In this section, we’ll guide you through each step of the export process. Whether you’re a seasoned blogger or new to content migration, these simple instructions will make the transfer from Google Docs™ to WordPress™ a breeze.

Step 1: Open Google Docs™

Ensure you are signed in to your Google account. Open Google Docs™ in your web browser.

Step 2: Launch Tenwrite Addon

In the menu at the top of the Google Docs™ interface, click on Extensions, select Tenwrite and then click on Export to WordPress.

Step 3: Select WordPress™ Blog

If you have more than one WordPress™ site, use the dropdown to select your preferred WordPress™ site where you want to transfer the Google Docs™ content.

Step 4: Choose Google Docs™ Document to Export

Click on the Select Google Docs button to launch the built-in Google Drive™ UI.

On the Google Drive™ file picker UI, select the Google Docs™ documents that you want to export and click on Select button.

Step 5: Customize Individual Post Details

The selected Google Docs™ documents will be shown. Click on the Edit buttons to edit the corresponding post’s details.

Customize the Post Title, Excerpt, Post Status, Categories & Tags for each of the WordPress™ posts. Use the Edit Prev and Edit Next buttons to quickly switch between different posts.

Step 6: Configure Advanced Options

Review and enable advanced options as per your requirements.

Step 7: Start the Export

Once ready, click on the Start Export button to start the content transfer process.

Depending on the size and number of images present in each Google Docs™ document, it may take some time to export the documents. Please be patient.

You’ll receive a notification once the export process is completed.

Step 8: Check the Exported Post in WordPress™ Admin Panel

Finally, login to your WordPress™ site and check the exported posts.
